SEPTEMBER 2025 - EXCITING NEWS
Locking Parish Council, in partnership with the Locking Skatepark Group—a community-led, non-profit organisation—is working to bring a much-needed skatepark facility to the young people of Locking Parish. We are seeking sponsors who value community engagement, youth development, and brand visibility through meaningful social impact.
Our Journey So Far
This initiative began in February 2022 with 14-year-old Ben, who identified the need for a skatepark in Locking. His passion led to an online petition that garnered significant local support. The Parish Council responded enthusiastically, forming a Skatepark Working Group and committing land for the facility. Maverick Industries, a leading UK skatepark design firm, developed the final design, which has received planning approval from North Somerset.
Funding Goal
The total estimated cost of the skatepark is £300,000. We are reaching out to sponsors to help us achieve this target and make a lasting impact on the community.

Locking Skatepark will address a critical shortage of recreational facilities for young people in Locking Parklands, Mead Fields, and Haywood Village. It will provide a safe, inclusive space for physical activity, creativity, and social interaction—helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and promote well-being.
